Criticism class

The criticism class was conducted on 19,February, Thursday, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., consisting of six periods. The sessions were distributed over three days for the English department, with 14 students participating. The students were divided into two groups: the first group conducted criticism classes, while the second group handled moral-based classes. I was part of the first phase and was assigned to conduct the criticism class on Day One, from 3:00 p.m. to 3:50 p.m.

The lesson I handled was “A Tryst with Destiny” for Class 8, a chapter that deeply interested me due to its historical significance. I used placards to explain word meanings and audio-visual aids, including a short video, as the entry activity. The class was well-planned and organized according to the lesson plan.

Six students were presented for thecriticism class to act as my students
— three from Natural Science and three from Mathematics. Overall, the class went well. However, I experienced anxiety and health-related discomfort, which affected my confidence and presence of mind.

Despite these challenges, the experience was highly motivating and enriching. It taught me the importance of staying strong, managing difficulties, and giving my best even under unfavorable conditions. This session helped me understand that not every class goes exactly as planned, but each experience contributes to personal growth and professional development, shaping us into better teachers for the future.
