Natural Science Subject Association - Prakvya

Subject associations play a significant role in promoting academic and professional development among students and teachers. They provide opportunities to extend learning beyond textbooks through activities like seminars, workshops, exhibitions, and competitions. These associations foster teamwork, leadership, and creativity while deepening subject knowledge and practical understanding. They also bridge classroom learning with real-world applications, nurturing curiosity, collaboration, and a love for learning.

The Natural science subject association was conducted on 31 Oct 2025 from 2- 3.30pm in the seminar hall. The program started with the prayer song followed by logo and name reveal. Sanskriti - Kerala Piravi celebration 2025

Kerala Piravi is celebrated on November 1st every year to mark the formation of the state of Kerala in 1956. The day reminds us of the unity and rich cultural heritage of the Malayalam-speaking people. Schools and institutions organize various programs to highlight Kerala’s traditions, art forms, and achievements. Kerala Piravi is a time to take pride in our state’s progress and to honor its history, language, and culture.

Today we celebrate the Kerala Piravi in our college from 10 - 12.30 pm in seminar hall. Thus is the first program hosted by the College Union (2025-26) after the oath taking ceremony and as the Vice Chairperson I was equally thrilled as well as tensed. The program started with a prayer song followed by  welcome speech. Our Principal sir did the inagural address and in the absence of our Chairman, I delivered the union message. The cultural programs started with the welcome dance followed by games where two students ( a boy and a girl) who was already selected participated in a game called Malayali Manga and Kerala Sreeman. The game was conducted in five rounds each round was thought provoking as well as funny.

The program coordinators Ms. Abhileskhmi ( Ars Secretary ) and Mrs. Thameesha ( Magazine editor) joint effort made the game a success and thrilling. The judges, Sreeleksmi miss and Praveena miss, had to shoulder the task of finding the talented couple among the five groups. Their keen and sharp judgement helped us to find the title winner of the competition which was the English department ( Jinsha  and Ananthu). Then we headed to the cultural programs. The program started with a group song followed by other events. The union has also arranged a small snack( samosa & black tea) for the students. The program ended with the prize distribution. The Union also took feedbacks from students to understand the rectifications they had to make in the upcoming programs.

But as our first program, all ended well and the students was equally happy and satisfied.

School induction - Day 01

As part of the two year B.Ed curriculum, our college scheduled the school induction from 21st Oct to 27th Oct, 2025 in the selected 29 schools.  School induction is necessary to make the future teachers understand the functioning of the school and also to understand the teaching methods of senior teachers. We were also asked to take three classes ( 8&9) so as to get feedback from the observing teacher and to improve our teaching techniques.

I selected Mathoma Girls High School, Kottarakkara and we were 9 students in total( 3 each from English, Maths and Social Science). Since 4 out of 5 English teachers are going along with 10th students for their study tour, the teachers made arrangements so that we can get one observation class and also to take a class.

The observation class was in 9 B (4th period) and it was taken by a senior faculty, Mr.Sam. A highly passionate and dedicated teacher who tries to improve the linguistic ability of students. He believed in student centered learning and made the students to learn and understand on their own. The teacher also provided information about his teaching strategies guiding us to understand the changing teaching techniques.

We, the three students of English took class in 8- F( second hour). It was my class and the content was further developed by Rincy and was concluded by Joisy. The observer was Miss. Sherley K Varghese, a kind and dedicated teacher who supported us wholeheartedly. Shr made us realize the mistakes we made, like for me she asked me to reduce my speed so that I can teach them more effectively. She also was satisfied with my language and teaching technique and her feedback will help to improve in my teaching methods.

We were also asked to mark our attendance in the given register from college ( morning and evening) and in between we also tried to collect some data for our Induction Report.
