On Oct 15,Wednesday, 15 students from both English and Maths department volunteered to be a part of Sports meet that will be held from 15- 17 October. We were part of Food committee and among us 5 were taken SKV school to be a volunteer over there.
The sports fest was fun and thrilling and were we got to see students who are actively competing in different events. We could not see the meet in detail, since we were wanted to serve the food to the participants and other faculities. There was also student volunteers from DIET, Kottarakkara ( II yr students ) and we ten ( in total) took turns to serve food and water and also to eat in between. The food served was Rice, Thoran, Aviyal, Sambar, Moru and Pickle and it was also really yummy.
The staff was also kind and supportive to all of us,guiding and supporting; becoming key members in moulding future teachers. It was actually a training for us to understand how to work with senior faculties and to create a rapport among other teacher trainees and school students. It was also another way to make us understand the role a teacher should play in schools and in such events.
Overall, these volunteership are necessary in B.Ed studies to make the prospective teachers understand the responsibility and the importance of a teacher and their role in a student' life.
