Civic Club Inauguration

The Civic Club Inauguration was conducted on 6 April 2026 at 11 a.m. with the motto “Building Responsible Citizens for Tomorrow.” The programme began with the official inauguration by the club members. This was followed by an informative talk session led by the resource persons, who were officers from the Cyber Crime, Kollam, Mr.Jose Johnson and Mr. Darwin M.

During the session, the resource persons explained how cybercrimes have become a growing threat in modern society. They highlighted how people’s digital profiles are often misused and how individuals are cheated through various forms of online scams and fraudulent activities. Through real-life case histories, they illustrated the different kinds of cyber threats that children, young people, and adults may encounter in the digital world.

The speakers also discussed preventive measures that individuals and teachers should adopt to stay safe online. They emphasized the importance of maintaining digital awareness, protecting personal information, and guiding students to use technology responsibly. In addition, they informed participants about the toll-free helpline number that can be contacted in case of cyberattacks or online scams. They stressed that if a person becomes a victim of cybercrime, the first step should be to immediately seek proper guidance and report the issue to the concerned authorities.

Overall, the session was highly informative, thought-provoking, and relevant. It helped create awareness about cyber safety and highlighted the role of teachers in educating students about responsible digital behaviour. As prospective teachers and responsible citizens, the programme encouraged us to remain vigilant and guide the future generation towards safe and ethical use of technology.
